Nataliia Shchotkina joined the Knight Campus in 2022. She is a Research Assistant and a Rosaria Haugland Postdoctoral Fellow in the Lindberg Lab. She received her master’s degree from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University in 2011. While pursuing her degree, she worked as a laboratory assistant in a reference laboratory of the Ukrainian Reference Center for Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics and Metrology, National Children's Specialized Hospital “OKHMATDET.” She acquired skills in a wide range of laboratory methods and successfully implemented them into her research work and projects.
Shchotkina’s most recent research project was with the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardio Surgery (Ukraine) in the field of biotechnology and tissue engineering. She developed a tissue-modified matrix for use in cardiac surgery for the repair of congenital and acquired heart defects. Shchotkina is in the process of earning her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering science at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.”
