The role of the Knight Campus Building User Group is to think broadly about institutional goals and provide counsel on scientific functions and needs of the infrastructure in which new research teams will be housed. This building group is distinctive from others on campus in that the individuals involved in designing the spaces will by and large not be used by the individual group members or current colleagues in existing departments. The group has been charged with.
- Initial meetings with user group and personnel from campus planning to review process
- Review architecture firm proposals and participate in interviews to select lead firm
- Visit buildings to gain ideas and locate functional existing designs - optional
- Meet with architecture firm and design team for an estimated four hours every other week
- Continued participation as construction begins
Knight Campus Building User Group members were appointed by the acting Executive Director and are expected to remain on the project until substantial completion of the project.
